Key Accomplishments
Saved over $1 million in the first year with complete responsibility, from vision to implementation, of Sprint's web-based employee self-service. Costing $380,000, the project was completed in 9 months and served all of Sprint's employees from the outset.
Created an industry-leading HR technology department with customer-focus and business responsiveness as priorities. Streamlined business-critical processes. Minimized development time and costs through strong partnerships with clients and knowledge of their business.
Eliminated paper forms and drastically reduced costs and transaction cycle times from weeks to minutes automating 16 managerial processes through Intranet implementation of Manager Self-Service.
Implemented new integrated HR legacy system. Still in place over a decade later despite going to the industry premiere vendor (PeopleSoft) for most other back-office processing. Promoted to Director, HR Information Services as a direct result of efforts on this project.
Designed and implemented a revolutionary system for Affirmative Action Planning. Partnering with the company's Fair Employment Practices officer, created a system of Affirmative Action Planning and reporting driven by the business organizational hierarchy as opposed to geographical location. Co-presented to the Department of Labor in Washington D.C., gaining acceptance for this new approach.
Created extensive systems to supplement HR/Payroll legacy functionality. Accountable for entire system lifecycles and associated support. Designed for enhanced responsiveness, system modifications to support new programs and policies were effectively implemented in extraordinarily short time-frames. Examples include:
  • Java Applet for analyzing and processing the annual salary treatment for 38,000 employees.
  • Web-based system to facilitate Sprint's Succession Planning process.
  • Web-based vehicle for maintenance and display of the company organization charts.
  • Extensive interfaces with internal business partners and external vendors handling millions of dollars such as 401k with Fidelity and benefit premiums with Cigna.
  • Benefit claims analysis to establish premiums.
  • Management incentive bonus tracking system with year-end analysis and payouts.
  • Compensation analysis for annual salary review and benchmarks.
  • Extensive tool set allowing non-technical personnel to create and generate analysis reports.
